Looking for logs that burn steadily and give you dependable heat for longer?
Our kiln dried hardwood logs are a great choice for wood burners, stoves and open fires.
Hardwood is naturally dense, which means it generally burns more slowly than softwood. This makes it ideal when you want to settle down in front of the fire without constantly adding another log.
At Humber Logs, your hardwood logs are produced from timber created through our own tree surgery work in East Yorkshire. They are processed, kiln dried on our own site and screened before bagging, giving you clean, consistent firewood that is easy to handle and ready for your log store.
Who Are Hardwood Logs Best For?
Hardwood logs are particularly suited to you if you regularly use your stove or fire and want a steady, longer-lasting source of heat.
They are a good choice if:
You use your wood burner regularly through autumn and winter
You prefer a slower, steadier-burning fire
You want to add logs less often once your fire is established
You are looking for strong heat during colder weather
You already use kindling or smaller pieces of wood to get your fire started
Our hardwood bags can include species such as Oak, Ash, Beech, Hornbeam and other dense hardwoods produced through our local tree surgery work. The exact mix will naturally vary depending on the timber we are working with.
Why Does Hardwood Burn for Longer?
Different woods have different densities. Hardwood generally grows more slowly and has a denser structure than softwood. Once your fire is established, that density helps the logs burn steadily for longer. For you, that means good heat output without having to feed your fire as frequently.
If you mainly use your stove for long winter evenings or rely on it regularly for additional heating, hardwood can be worth paying a little more for.
Kiln Dried for a Better Burn
Have you ever tried to light logs that hiss, smoke or simply refuse to burn properly? Too much moisture could be the problem.
Our hardwood logs are kiln dried on our own East Yorkshire site to reduce their moisture content to below 20%. Drying the timber properly means less of your fire's energy is wasted trying to remove moisture from the wood.
Instead, you can enjoy:
Easier lighting
Strong heat output
A more efficient burn
Less smoke than poorly dried wood
A more enjoyable fire
Because we operate our own kiln, the drying process is carried out on our own site rather than relying on logs bought in from elsewhere.

Locally Produced in East Yorkshire
Humber Logs is part of Yorkshire Tree Surgery, so your firewood has a clear local source. We do not buy in logs or cordwood simply to process and resell.
Instead, suitable timber created through our own tree surgery work is processed into firewood. Our woodchip is also used as a bio product to help fuel the biomass boiler that provides heat for our kiln. This allows us to make better use of the materials our work already produces while reducing unnecessary transport.
Your logs are processed, kiln dried, screened and bagged on our own East Yorkshire site before being delivered to you.
